DPS (Damage Per Second) is the key metric for optimizing your build in Devil Hunter. It combines your weapon's base damage, attack speed (frame data), style modifiers, and STR bonuses into a single number that represents your sustained damage output.
The Swordmaster style is generally the best for raw DPS, providing a flat 25% damage boost plus combo bonuses up to 20%. However, Royal Guard offers 70% damage reduction during heavy weapon windups, making it essential for survival-focused builds.
Combo Optimization Tips
- Use M1 chains to build combo counter before using skills (Q, E)
- Heavy weapons benefit more from single-hit skills like Ultimate (R)
- Fast weapons like Agni & Rudra excel with extended M1 chains
- Grab (G) provides good damage but has long recovery frames
